I am currently exhibiting in the gallery of the Artist Residence hotel, a fantastic boutique that prides itself on the artists who inhabit it. Situated immediately opposite the west pier in Regency Square, each room is individually painted by different artists. You can graze on tea and cakes whilst you watch the artists at work. The gallery is free and open to all between 10am – 8pm so come take a butchers!

This ongoing event is taking place as part of Brighton’s notorious annual Fringe Festival which takes place every May and showcases talent in music, theatre, dance, cabaret and the visual arts. www.brightonfringefestival.org.uk

I’d say inspiration comes from artists like M.I.A (just without the neon. I. hate. neon!)

The fabrics are internationally sourced, with help from friends’ families living in places like India and Capetown. My logo was taken from my doodlings on a Costa coffee napkin and has since been slapped everywhere unashamedly.

I picked Sharn as photographer because she uses a finish that mimics the graininess you see in your parents’ wedding photos. I chose my mate Kat as the model as she has this natural, enigmatic look with a face that you can’t quite place. You can just envisage her sitting there happily pulling at the strings of a hoody in an American Apparel advert.

The props included melting ice cream and strawberry laces… but we dropped that part of the film on the floor!
